A day in the life of a Capital One Software Engineer.

You’ll work alongside other Software Engineers on innovative projects. You’ll have the opportunity to learn, design and build software products from the ground up.

• Helping customers view and monitor their credit scores with Credit Keeper

• Enabling customers to view and edit their Personal Information directly in the Mobile App

• Providing customers 100% certainty which credit cards they’ll be approved for before they apply, by using Quick Check™

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of applications using enterprise Java technology and object oriented methodologies

• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

• Determine project requirements and delegating tasks to the team

• Motivate and elevate the team culture through inclusion, recognition and leadership

• Liaise with the team, leadership and stakeholders for their needs and priorities

• Continuously improve software engineering, and security practices

• Mentor and elevate junior engineers within the business

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field

• At least 6 years of experience in Application Development using Java and/or GoLang

• At least 3 years of experience in Application Development using JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications

• 8 years + of experience in Application Development using Java

• 6 years + of experience in Application Development using JavaScript

• 1 year + of experience using Golang

• 4 years + of experience using front end technologies (HTML, CSS)

• 2 years + of experience using Javascript frameworks (vue.js, React, Node)

• Experience with Test Driven Development

• Experience with AWS
